From a Local Dorm Room to Global Board Rooms

Passageways was founded in 2002, in the quiet Young Graduate residence hall of Purdue University. Born from the idea that the best work demands collaboration, we set out to transform how enterprises around the world accomplish amazing progress – together.

Passageways develops two collaboration suites, for employee collaboration and boardroom collaboration, used by more than 600 organizations worldwide.

Passageways dreams big. We believe that every organization in the world stands to benefit from enhanced secure collaboration. That as “makers” we are charting the path toward this future, from right here in Lafayette.

The key challenge facing any growing software company is to develop solutions that can be used, and universally loved, by any organization. We absolutely believe that irrespective of industry or geography that our products have a place within every business. That’s where product design is paramount. To create products that are easy to localize, you need a diverse workforce. And from our engineers, designers, accountants, lawyers, writers, we leverage every local resources at our disposal to scale globally.

We have taken on the global expansion journey as a challenge, expanding in 2016 alone into the United Kingdom, India, and Canada. This expansion is just the start, with plans to accelerate our global expansion in 2017. Our challenge is to remain an ambidextrous organization that’s doing equal parts creation and exploration.

Innovation doesn’t occur through blind repetition; it takes devotion and willingness to back your best ideas. And to attract the best talent, you must orient people towards a goal greater than themselves.

To do that systematically, we have long challenged other small businesses to devote themselves to the Pledge 1% initiative, giving back 1% of your product, profit, and time each year to our beautiful community and local charities. That means giving employees time to go make the world a better a place, to help sheltered animals, disadvantaged youth, and our community.
