sabbath. rest. lifestyle - caro meers | seminar room 5

God's people have always been recognised by their practice of Sabbath. In today's 24/7 world it is increasingly difficult to hold onto a day of rest, and yet more than ever we need leaders who minister out of a place of restful abundance and who know how to say 'no' to the gods of 'more'. Come and rest at this seminar and we'll discuss ways we can practice Sabbath in both our outer and inner life.

Caro is wife to Luke (a mad cyclist) and mum to three young kids. She loves gardening, baking and playing basketball. She also leads a church in Port Kembla, Australia, the red light district of her city and is passionate about authentic, honest community and deep spirituality. Caro co-leads Pioneer Australia and champions unity with other churches and ministries in her local area.

church planting - mark & deana button | seminar room 3/4

Church planting presents a great opportunity to engage with communities and expand the Kingdom of God. It can be very exciting to see a new expression of church birthed but it can also be challenging and demanding. In this seminar Mark and Deana will talk about some of their experiences planting Mosaic Church and share some insights and lessons learned along the way. This is not intended to be a ‘how to’ but an opportunity to be part of the ongoing church planting ‘conversation’.

Mark and Deana lead Mosaic Church (Hull), which was planted in 2015 through a partnership between Pioneer and the Methodist Church. They have a Friday night campus in the North of the city which has been running for two years, and they have just launched a Sunday campus in the West of Hull. They are both employed part time in Mosaic, and Mark also lectures at Mattersey Bible College. They have two children, Micah and Georgia, and are proud they are living in this years' City of Culture!
