Located in Gokarna, Om Beach got its name because the beach is shaped like two crescents, which resembles the Hindi symbol for Om.
The Murdeshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is the second largest Shiva statue in the world, and is 123 feet high.
This tower is a gopuram (called Raja Gopura) and is 20 stories tall. It is located before the statue of Lord Shiva.
Two elephants guard the gopuram.
Underneath the statue is a cave that depicts the story of Ravana.
