Seven steps to keep your online reputation intact

Google Yourself: something you should do at least once every three months.

Clean up Your Accounts and Content: if there is any incongruence, now is the time to correct it.

Update Your Privacy Settings: limit your audience and delete some fake people.

Ask for content to be removed: if somebody posted something of/about you that you don't like, ask the person to remove it.

Update and strengthen your password: a strong password contains a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, along with at least one symbol.

Set up a google alert for your name: a google alert is a free tool that google provides and will alert you whenever the key terms that you enter are used.

Claim your name: use your name as a username to try to stop people from making you look bad.
