Halloween Video Parade

Please see flyer above for more information. All photos are due here by Monday, October 22nd at 8 PM. Please remember to be mindful of the above listen costume guidelines - all costumes must be school appropriate.

Kids Walking 4 Kids!

Every year the staff, students & parents on our PTO choose an area of KIDS HEALTH that impacts our ER students & families (Ie. diabetes, heart health/conditions, cancer). This year we are walking for emotional health. We have a wide range of emotions as we deal with COVID-19 & its effects on our normal way of life. Please color a family sneaker, drop it off, walk/run/ride with your family the week of Oct. 26, attach a photo to the dropbox here & donate to CHOP here if you would like. There will be a drop box for finished sneakers outside of ER to drop off on nice days, if it is raining - please call the office to arrange a drop off. More information will be coming shortly!

News From Mrs. Lehrman

A friendly reminder to all K+ parents/guardians to send in your child's most current immunizations as soon as possible if you have not already done so. This is a requirement of the state that we have it at the beginning of the school year. Immunizations can be emailed to dlehrman@pennsburysd.org. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Falcon Flyer

The Falcon Flyer school newspaper is accepting submissions for our first issue of the 2020-21 school year! We accept just about anything! You can write non-fiction or fiction articles, poetry, share illustrations or original artwork, jokes, puzzles, announcements or kudos... we love to hear it all! The deadline for this first issue is October 31. Please submit work to your homeroom teacher or you can email it directly to Mrs. Bria at kbria@pennsburysd.org.

First Grade!

Thank you for picking up the items at last Thursday's distribution. Our next distribution will be on Thursday, 10/22, from 8am to 6pm. You can drop off food items at that time for the Thanksgiving Food Drive, too.

Well... It's that time. Most of you have given your child the independence, but if you haven't, please start moving away from your child during instruction. Yes, we know it's painful to watch them struggle to find a page or frustrating when you know the direction but your child isn't following it, but they need that independence. They can do it! They do it in the classroom. Your child should be hitting the buttons on the screen. If you keep doing it, he/she will never learn. Give your first grader some independence. Be sure to check the Google Classroom stream each night so your child can get materials prepared for the next day. When should you help? If the teacher can't help with technology issues. Please do not ask questions during Google Meets. The first graders need to ask the questions. We are working on being responsible and this is a big part of that. Thank you for all you do!

Second Grade

Our next materials distribution will be on Thursday, 10/15, from 8am to 6pm. If you have items to donate for our Thanksgiving food drive, they can be dropped off in the bin outside with our pick-up bags! Thank you!

Third Grade

We have a Student Materials Pick/Up and Drop/Off scheduled for Monday, October 19th. It will work the same way as the last pick-up. We’ll be collecting several items and each teacher will communicate with you to give you specific instructions. In Math this week, we were introduced to collecting data and making a bar graph, we talked about equal groups and division number stories. We will count nickels and dimes as we practice our 5 and 10 times tables. Thank you for helping your child to be at our Live sessions on time, use the Chat responsibly, and complete the daily assignments on Google Classroom. We are so thankful for the support you are giving at home!

PTO Thanksgiving Food Drive

Scholastic Book Fair!

Scarecrow Building Contest!

As we know many things this year have had to be postponed or canceled due to the pandemic. As the ER PTO we wanted to find a way to safely celebrate and lift up our community while engaging our ER students and families! You do not need to be a Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary Family to participate! We'd love to see the whole community joining in!

What do you need to do?

1. Complete the registration form below no later than 8 pm on October 14th.

2. Place your scarecrow in your front yard no later than October 16th.

3. On October 17th, we will post a map and link to vote on our PTO website and Facebook page!

4. The voting will begin October 17th and run through October 30th! So keep your scarecrow up for those two weeks! All ER families and local residents are invited to walk or safely drive through the neighborhood and hunt for scarecrows and to vote for their favorites via the Google form!
