What are we learning?

Math: We will review place value, now introducing the hundreds place.

Reading: In Unit 4 we will be dissecting nonfictional texts. This week we will be connecting main ideas to important facts and details. Please practice this during your nightly reading.

Phonics:decode words including consonant digraphs. decode words including consonant digraphs. High frequency words- your, could, an, always, after. Consonant digraphs -ck and -ng: clock, stack, click, thick, quack, kick,bring, hang, wrong, sang.

Social Studies: We will learn about important historical figures such as Richard Allen, Thomas Edison, Garrett Morgan and Alexander Graham Bell.

Science: We will explore our four seasons.

Important News

  • I hope everyone had an amazing winter break! I am excited to be back in our routine and continue working towards our classroom goals.
  • Our 2nd nine weeks award ceremony will be Thursday January 19th from 8:45am-9:45am. You will be notified if your child will be receiving an award, like before please make sure to keep this a secret from your child. It is always great to see their faces when their names are called.
  • This weekend is a long weekend, don't forget we are off Monday January 16th for MLK day.
