Progress On Building The Barn By: lauren rutherord

The Ag. department has been raising money in order to build a new barn. The animal science facility will be used to expand the swine area and also allow room for other species. The building will also contain a composter.

Sophomore Harley Bush explains the hydroponic system to Senator Steve Davisson. He visited the Ag department to see the ongoing projects and the plans for the new ones.
Sophomore Tony Lowe demonstrates the tomato plant fertilizing system to Mr. Davisson. The agriculture department currently grows lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Once space is available they plan to grow a bigger variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Sophomore Murphy Laws explains the indoor herb garden.
The department shared their plans for the new addition. After, this project is completed they plan to add shrimp and fish farming. Ag teacher Cory Scott it very excited to see what all the program will accomplish.
Mr. Davisson was generous enough to donate to the department. The goal is to raise $125,000. So far, including this donation, they have made over $44,000.
