The Bad-Landers MCC arrange an annual charity bike ride to Phoenix House Personnel Recovery Centre in Catterick.
The centre is run by Help for Heroes and supported by the Royal British Legion and offers support to those who have suffered life changing injuries and illnesses as they adapt to their new life. The Centre is open to both serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded, injured or become sick whilst serving, and their families.
The £10.7m, purpose-built Centre has 46 en-suite bedrooms, four family rooms, an arts and craft room plus training, presentation and IT suites. A gymnasium with specialist equipment, a café and social areas also form part of the new Centre.
Additional help is given through the provision of a Support Hub at the Recovery Centre which brings together a range of Service Charities and organisations that collectively offer advice and guidance on a multitude of issues, such as money, health, housing and respite. Available to residents, their families and veterans, the Hub is open to Army, Navy, RAF and the Territorial Army personnel.
Bad-Landers MCC along with other riders have been supporting this cause since 2012. Here are some photos from the rides and cheque presentations.
