The Starry Night , Vincent van Gogh, made June 1889

I chose this painting and artist because his work is a very pretty and a good IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING to study from .

it shows the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise, with the addition of an idealized village.

what did vincent van gogh accomplish by painting the starry night ? im not sure but it might have been something to do with his painting that he did one might be the way he wanted the sky to look.

what tools did he use for his painting ? Van Gogh was known for his thick application of paint on canvas, called impasto which means using the paint straight out of the tube with no thinning or diluting.. he also produced nearly 150 watercolor paintings during his lifetime. he used Oil paint, a palette knife, broken brush strokes

he probably used more brush stoke types but im not seeing anymore that he used in his art work
