Principal's Post

12.11.18 - Hello again, Springton Manor families. It feels like we were just preparing for Halloween, and here we are, eight school days away from our winter recess. This year is moving right along!

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is upon us. There are many events to enjoy and opportunities to spread holiday cheer in our community. I will do my best to keep all of our Springton Manor information posted within the Mustang Monthly. Make sure to check the link on our websites, as I do not send out the link every time it is updated.

For our families that celebrated Hanukkah, I hope that it was a great holiday.

No matter how you celebrate this season, make sure to slow down and enjoy it, despite all of its craziness. Before you know it, we will be counting down the days until Spring Break!

This Thursday - Barnes and Noble Bookfair!

Cold Weather

With the temperatures dropping, make sure your child is appropriately dressed for the weather. We will continue to have outdoor recess unless the real-feel temperature drops below 25 degrees. Hats, mittens and jackets are an excellent idea for the chilly days ahead.

Educational/Family Trips

If you know that you will be submitting a request for your child to partake in an educational trip, please remember these key points from our District Policy:

  • Requests should be made at least three days prior to the trip
  • Ten days is the limit per school year (unless otherwise approved by the principal)
  • Please, please, please....list any and all educational values of the trip

While these do not cover all of the factors that go into considering approval for a trip, these are the first components that I review. Please click the link below to see the extensive list.

Helping Hand Program

Please consider being a "Helping Hand" to a family in our Springton Manor Community. There are families in our own school that have suffered recent hardships and are feeling the burden of the economy. We would like to bring some comfort and smiles to them for the holiday season!

This year, we will be collecting gift cards to Wegmans, Giant, Acme, Target, and Walmart. All gift cards should be sent in to Amy Sullivan (LTS School Counselor) by December 18th. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
