Our story about reservoirs and dams continued. We’re still not quite certain of our role but we looked again at a map of a valley in Kielder and tried to match it to a photo of the same area from the same time (the late 1960’s) We noticed a village in the photo with a railway. Going by the map, we thought it might be Plashnet village. We wrote to the residents to warn them of the plan to flood the valley to create a reservoir. We will await the responses!
In computing, we are looking at internet safety and this week, our online reputations and how to protect them.
We have been trying to combine at home and in school lessons... a work out with Mr Brehenny and Spanish with Senora Holden worked well!
We started to look at some of the wildlife around science, especially the vertebrates. We Ed them into the five main groups of fish, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds.
This was week two of our Genious Hour. We tried to get our ideas more specific and thought about what we would like to find out for ourselves and what questions would help us focus our research.
English was spent looking at using adjectives and adverbs to write one of Culhwch’s other 39 tasks in a follow on from last week’s story. Hopefully by the end of next week, we’ll have some finished stories!
