This was the map of the Pearl Harbor attack.
During Pearl Harbor the USA was fighting Japan.

This battle was fought on land and air because the Japanese came to surprise attack on their position northwest of Hawaii, intending to launch its 408 aircraft to attack Pearl Harbor: 360 for the two attack waves and 48 on defensive.

Japan came into this attack with a goal in mind. The goal of the Japanese was to destroy the U.S. Pacific Fleet.

The attack on Pearl Harbor took place on December 7, 1941. It only lasted 110 minutes, but it was a brutal battle.

This battle took place in Hawaii because it was the location of the U.S. largest naval base. It was also conveniently close to Japan.

This attack made the U.S. angry which lead to there entrance into WW ll.

  • The Japanese fleet consisted of 353 planes.
  • All 8 of the U.S. battleships were either destroyed or damaged
  • The Japanese attacked the U.S. without any warning

Overall, this battle for the Japanese was a victory, but they now had to face America's wrath.
