Snow day A day in the cold

The day started wonderfully. A smooth cruise up to payson kicked it all off. The child was complacent with sitting in his car seat and the truck was running wonderfully.

So, we hit the open road.
Blue skies don't bother me, but clouds are the way to my heart.

The skies were like something I've never seen. The clouds were low and the air was wet.

Before long, we were into one of the most beautiful sections of highway in Arizona. Up Highway 87, the mountains were surrounded by fog, the snow was flurrying, and the scenery was breathtaking.

It was glorious.

For some reason, the light, or lack there of, made the generally brown trees look amazingly green. It almost looked tropical. There for a moment, I forgot it was winter time.

Then again, we never really get "winter time" in Arizona.

No trolls under this bridge.

I just happen to be one of those days. One of those days you wish would last a week. One of those days where you have all the time in the world, and yet it's still not enough.
