Glamma's Mardi Gras Cruise and New Orleans adventure Let's Party

Mardi Gras 2018

Glamma loves cruising, New Orleans and Mardi Gras! So this year Glamma is sailing aboard Carnival Dream leaving New Orleans on Saturday February 4th and returning February 11th; just in time for Mardi Gras! Come along with us as we re-visit and introduce you to some of our favorite islands, Isla Roatan, Cozumel and Belize! Then stick around after the cruise for (optional) excursions to experience "authentic New Orleans" with us. We will take a swamp tour, party and have an amazing lunch provided by Smoke Dat BBQ under the bridge as we watch the amazing parades. 2 fun filled Mardi Gras days in New Orleans at the end of our 7 day cruise is just what Glamma orders!

Itinerary:

02/04: Depart New Orleans 4pm

Depart: 4pm

02/05: Fun Day at Sea!

We plan to enjoy our first cruise aboard the Carnival Dream, the lead ship of the Dream class ships. We greatly enjoy exploring new ships, finding the coins, and searching for hidden areas and escapes on each new cruise ship that we sail aboard. Can't wait for the deck party on our first day at sea!

02/06: Cozumel

We have visited this island 7 times and we STILL haven't finished exploring! There is so much to see and do. And this is also one of my favorite islands to sit in the white sand and enjoy the beautiful beaches. Snorkeling, shopping, relaxing and walking around looking are some of our favorite things to do in Cozumel. Glamma will make sure there are options for everyone!

Arrive: 8am - Depart: 6pm

02/07: Belize

Zip lining! That is the name of the game for this visit to Belize! We will be contacting Speedy and Potatoe and asking them to pick our group up at the port and take us to do some sight seeing and also experience adventures and great Belizean food!!! You are going to LOVE our tour guides and our tour. Excursions with Glamma are optional.

Arrive: 8am - Depart: 5pm

02/08: Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan

Glamma has already reached out to our tour operator from Isla Roatan and although I know that we want to experience new and exciting adventures (and we will), we are going to BEGIN our tour at the Monkey preserve again. It put everyone in a great mood for the rest of our day and we can control the amount of time that we spend there before moving on to the next adventure!

Arrive: 9am - Depart: 5pm

02/09 and 02/10: Fun Day at Sea

Fun Days at Sea should be FUN, right? So let's make this FUN!!! On our last day at sea Glamma will host a 1 hour cocktail party (drinks are on me)!!! I ask that EVERYONE come dressed for Mardi Gras! This will be our jump off before the real Mardi Gras celebration starts when we disembark! So wear your Purple, Gold and Green! Put on your masks! Grab your sparkly tutu and come ready to mingle! Of course Glamma will absolutely need a group photo so make sure you come to #Slay

02/11: Arrive New Orleans

Although we hate to say goodbye, some of our group may be leaving and I am happy to arrange for airport transfers. The rest of us will be heading to our hotel rooms for a day at leisure in the city. Feel free to head to the French Quarters (it will be JAM PACKED) or Paw-Paw will be more than happy to guide us to great eating and he is always happy to show people his city and I'm always happy to find the nearest drive thru daiquiri shop and get a hurricane or 3.

02/12 Explore New Orleans

It's Lundi Gras!!! There are some really cool parades happening! And Glamma is taking a group of really fun people on a real cajun experience! We will have a private, on site crawfish boil with local live music. Then we embark on a private bayou excursion, bringing us to a Cajun village that can only be seen by boat (and of course some gators might join us)!

City Walking Tour

Mardi Gras Celebration with cartering provided by Smoke Dat

You haven't experienced New Orleans cooking until Smoke Dat BBQ cooks for you! The owner, Mr. Errol Houston, has been trained in the art of cooking by the Griffin family elders. This family takes the art of cooking to an entirely different level and you can actually taste the love they use to cook their food with. You are in for a special treat as the owner of Smoke Dat BBQ himself will prepare our lunch and enjoy the parades with us, you're now a part of the family!

Fat Tuesday! Because we are going to EAT and get FAT on this Tuesday. No seriously, Fat Tuesday (also called Shrove Tuesday, refers to the events of Carnival celebrations beginning on the Christian feasts of the Epiphany (Three Kings Day) and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday.

The Krewe of Zulu and the Krewe of Rex will both be passing Uptown and we will be hanging out under the bridges (it's a Native New Orleans thing) with Smoke Dat BBQ eating good, drinking good and watching the festivities pass by. This is an EARLY MORNING celebration! And then although we hate goodbyes, our time together will end. Again, transportation to the airport can be arranged or back to the hotel for those desiring to stay another night.
