Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, I grew up loving the culture, people, and inspiration of small town southern cities. In 2014, I moved from my home to attend college at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, another small southern city dug into the rolling mountains of Appalachia. Living near the mountains, many of my friends and family members were and are big hiking enthusiast, but I've found that some of the best hiking I have done hasn't been out in nature, but on the little walked sidewalks of once vibrant streets in small cities. I like to connect to the history of the old store fronts, now taken over by bars and offices, and imagine what they were in their hay day. During these walks I like to take pictures and visit small hole-in-the-wall dinners. I've found that some of the places that seem little-known have sometimes the most interesting or comforting food. Unfortunately, I'm an extremely picky eater. Because of my picky eating habits, at a young age I began cooking meals for myself, exactly how I wanted them, with exactly the ingredients I liked. Cooking has become a passion for me, and it is my dream to one day open a restaurant to share the foods I love to make and eat with everyone.
