The Great Depression was a terrible time in the late 1920's to the late 1930's. It started when Wall Streets stock market plummeted. Lots of money was gone and billions of jobs were lost. Most of the people from America all became poor and this has never been forgotten.

What caused the Great Depression

Nine thousands banks failed during the months following the stock market crash of 1929. Millions people lost their jobs during the crash. Everyone became poor and homeless, some shops offered free drinks and food which normally ended up in long, long lines.
