The following is the list of topics presented in this communication:

  • LOS Speed Buttons for Scheduled Telephone Visits

LOS Speed Button for Scheduled Telephone Visits

(New Functionality )

On December 15th, providers will notice new speed buttons in the Level of Service (LOS) section when documenting in a scheduled telephone encounter. Current speed buttons should remain intact. This change is a Medicare Compliance requirement.

New Multiple Provider Schedule Columns Available

(New Functionality)

With the new release, HealthConnect has made it easier to identify new members and new patients within the Multiple Provider schedule (MPS). These identifiers (and a couple more) are new columns which can be added to the MPS. All you need to do is add them. If you need a refresher on adding/deleting MPS columns click on the button appearing after the list of new MPS columns.

The Multiple Provider Schedule displaying the new columns available with this release.

The following is the list of new columns which can be added to the MPS:

  • New Member
  • New Patient - member that hasn't been seen in 3 years or more
  • Last date of encounter for provider - looks back a period of 3 years
  • Last Date of encounter for department - looks back a period of 3 years

Patient Header Changes

This release brings changes to the language fields displayed on the Patient Header.

Removed Functionality

The preferred spoken language field has been removed from the header.

Added Functionality

The header now contains the patient's written language, whether an interpreter is needed, and their spoken language.

The interpreter and spoken language are contained in the same field.

These fields can be viewed more easily by hovering over them in the header. And, these fields can be edited by clicking on them.

Note: Patient Registration will not have the ability to click and open the fields on the header; however, they will be able to modify this information from within the Registration screen.

Nurse Triage Update

Status Update

Providers are starting to see Nurse Triage encounter details in Chart Review now that some nurses have been trained and are using this encounter type. Some providers may not see this encounter type in Chart Review now or in the near future because not all staff have been trained yet. Nursing Ed is delivering training to nurses on a rolling schedule so some nursing staff will not be using the encounter until Spring 2017.

Nurse Triage has adult, pediatric, and OBGYN protocols embedded in HealthConnect. The following is an example of a Nurse Triage encounter after it is completed and appears in Chart Review.

After clicking on a Nurse Triage encounter listing in Chart Review, HealthConnect displays a basic view of the encounter and the protocols selected by the Triage nurse.

The Nurse Triage encounter view displays basic encounter identifiers plus the disposition and the conversation string.
The SBAR note in the Nurse Triage encounter provides more detail yet is more succinct than more SBAR notes.
The Additional Documentation section displays links to the protocols and questionnaires used during the encounter, plus additional encounter information.
When the Protocols Used link is clicked within the Additional Documentation section, the answers to the protocols are displayed.
