The BrainBox Initiative Conference brings together rich, field-leading expertise in brain stimulation and brain imaging. Our conference is designed specifically to encourage the presentation of groundbreaking research, and to encourage neuroscientists from all stages of their careers to meet, network, discover, and exchange ideas with their peers and establish exciting new opportunities to collaborate.

What to expect at #BBIConf2019
Research Challenge 2019
The BrainBox Initiative Research Challenge looks specifically for integrated brain stimulation and brain imaging studies from those who aspire to build a name for themselves in this field. The techniques covered include fNIRS, TMS, tDCS, tACS and EEG.

2018 Research Challenge Winners
- Kathy Ruddy of Whelan Lab, Trinity College Dublin, for her project ‘Late-cortical disinhibition as a mechanism to upregulate excitability of the corticospinal pathway after stroke’.
- Mirja Steinbrenner of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, King’s College London, for her research into ‘Reduction of cerebral excitation through combination of GSR biofeedback and tDCS’.
Young Investigator Award
The BrainBox Initiative Young Investigator Award seeks to stimulate and reward novel neuroscience research. The Young Investigator Award winner will receive a presentation slot to speak at the BrainBox Initiative Conference 2019, a £500 cash prize, and will also receive ongoing support and promotion from the BrainBox Initiative and Rogue Resolutions.

The BrainBox Initiative has been committed, since day one, to giving early-career neuroscientists a voice. Our BrainBox Initiative Conference is designed specifically to provide a platform for these researchers, putting their work at the forefront of our event, allowing them to present their groundbreaking research to an audience containing some of the most renowned names in neuroscience, and to encourage neuroscientists from all stages of their careers to meet, network, discover, and exchange ideas with their peers and establish exciting new opportunities to collaborate.

We are looking for early-career researchers who would like to present a poster at the BrainBox Initiative Conference. All successful applicants will have the opportunity to display their research in the designated poster and networking area, as well as give a three-minute on-stage pitch to support their research to all #BBIConf2019 delegates. We will also be awarding a prize for the most novel research poster presented at the conference.
