Could robots serving food be coming to North Beach? Yes!!! You read that right.
A bill in the Maryland House of Delegates would allow small robotic delivery vehicles to operate in the town of North Beach. Delegate Mark Fisher appeared today in front of the Environment and Transportation committee to discuss the proposal.
The small devices that “look like a cooler” would travel along the boardwalk and sidewalks around town. The robotic container would pick up your food order and deliver it right to you. According to Fisher they would also deliver on the beach. Can you imagine? The system is already in use today delivering student meals on the Campus of George Mason University.
