Graduation (4 months!)
To quote my favorite novel by John Green, Looking for Alaska: "So this guy, François Rabelais. He was this poet. And his last words were 'I go to seek a Great Perhaps.' That's why I'm going. So I don't have to wait until I die to start seeking a Great Perhaps." May truly cannot come soon enough.
Break records for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals via Knight-Thon (3 months)
Knight-Thon is, in my opinion, the most important day of the entire year. It's better than Christmas, Thanksgiving, exponentially better than Valentine's Day. My goal this semester is to finish out my last and final Knight-Thon by personally raising anywhere up to, or over $2000 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Nail a career in the non-profit sector (9 months to 1 year)
Whether it be in the communications department at FCE right here in Longwood, Florida, a dance marathon manager for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals all the way in Salt Lake City, Utah, or even a janitor at Make a Wish Foundation in North Florida, I want to give my life to serving others by working at a non-profit organization.
Maintain a career that allows me to travel and ultimately change the world (2 years)
This one speaks for itself, but I want to change the world in absolutely any way that I can, and I want a career that allows me to travel to do so. (PS: Lauren, if you stumble across this board, I stole some pics from your Insta--obviously. You're such an inspiration to me and I love being able to know you.)
Write a novel (5 years)
Whether it becomes a best-seller or the absolute worst novel on the entire market, a dream of mine has always been to write a novel. I want to make this happen within the next 5 or so years.
Grow in my faith and share the love of Christ to as many people as possible (ongoing)
This goal is not specifically a long or short term goal, but rather an ongoing goal that I have. Every day I strive to be more like Christ in any way that I possibly can. I will admit that I am by NO MEANS perfect or even anywhere even relatively close to perfect, but Jesus offers grace and mercy. I also think that this is why I want a career in the non-profit field. To show Christ's love to as many people as I possibly can throughout the course of my so short life.
Get married and start a family (5+ years)
While I will admit that this is not my top tier number one goal in life, it would be silly of me to admit that it wasn't a dream of mine. I have always been a woman of independence (for the most part), but I truly want to meet a man who will better me in not only my career and my life, but my spiritual faith as well. From there I'd like to eventually start a family.
Move away from Florida (5-7 years)
While I do love the Florida beaches and being able to have a pool day in December, I do want to eventually pack up my things with my husband and move somewhere either northwest or even the slightest bit north, to a place that has all four seasons throughout the year. Once we move, I'd love to build a cute little house on a large amount of land and rescue a dog from an animal shelter.
Be a boss-lady who shops often and really doesn't care what others think (oh wait-that's me now)
The photo isn't super relevant because I am actually such a Nordstrom girl, however, the concrete jungle is truly very missed, so I thought it would be appropriate. I want to always have this mindset as long as I live that I don't care what others think of me and that I can conquer and achieve my goals, even if I am right by my lonesome in doing so. Also, shopping often seems like a really selfish thing, but I love it and really can't control myself.
