Ms. Martens 1st grade, 123

Welcome to an exciting journey of learning to read, write, add, subtract, and become independent thinkers! Join the fun of personalized learning where my students are the focus of all we do in room 123!

Homework

Homework is viewed as an opportunity to practice the skills children are learning throughout the school year. As much as possible it is very helpful to your child to complete their homework daily.

Monday: Read for 20 minutes and complete math Homelink. Write spelling words 3x each.

Tuesday: Read for 20 minutes and complete math Homelink. Make spelling KABOOM cards.

Wednesday: Read for 20 minutes and complete math Homelink. Use spelling words in a sentence.

Thursday: Read for 20 minutes and complete math Homelink. Practice spelling words 3 fun ways.

Friday: Read for 20 minutes.

Field trips!

We LOVE to go on field trips! If you are interested in volunteering please let me know! We typically attend 3-4 trips per school year.

Hands-on Learning

In room 123 we love to learn about math and science through hands-on activities that spark creativity and imagination!

Reading in Action!

In room 123 we do Daily 5 each day during our reading time. Children learn to be independent thinkers as they select the activities they want to work on and monitor their learning and growth! Children sit in a flexible environment, choosing where they want to work, in a spot that is best for their focus and attention.
