Sinton ISD has a Migrant Education Program that assist students and youth under 22 without a U.S. issued high school diploma or GED. The student or youth must travel/move to work temporary/seasonal agricultural or fishery work OR travel/move with parents that work temporary/seasonal agricultural or fishery work.

Medication Pick up

All student medications must be picked up (by a parent or guardian) from the Nurse’s Office no later than the last day of school. Medications not picked up by May 24, 2018 will be discarded.

Shots Due

Please be advised, all incoming 7th grade students for the 2018-2019 school year are required to have the Meningococcal Vaccine (MCV4), Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis) and x2 doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccines upon 7th grade entry.

Be sure to provide your child’s campus nurse with a copy of his/her updated shot records at your earliest convenience. An updated copy will be required at 7th grade registration.

Our Little Pirate Athletes had the pleasure of attending DASH - Differently Abled School Heroes event in Beeville on April 20th along with staff, volunteers and some of their biggest fans! Students competed in the bean bag toss, softball throw, long jump, limbo, 40-50 yard dashes, pick a duck and a fun obstacle course. In addition to these events, each "hero" received a ribbon for each activity they participated in as well as a free T-shirt and a medal inscribed with the words, "If you had fun, you won!" Everyone of our Little Pirates was a winner at this 'Special Olympics' event.

Students from Sinton High School culinary class prepared a delicious meal for SISD School Board Members during the School Board Appreciation Dinner in January.
The Sinton High School Challenge Team completed against Rock-Port Fulton in February and they took the championship of the Citgo bracket to move onto the semi-finals. Congratulations!

17 Sinton High School students performed in the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest at Victoria East HS. The Pirates had a great showing. Congratulations to Kallie Duke for her Superior rating on her Class 2 Solo! Next year, she will move up to a Class 1 solo!!! 10 students ranging from Freshmen to Senior Choir Members prepared a Class 1 Solo in hopes of being certified to perform at the State level. Out of those ten, 7 will perform at the State level in Pflugerville, Tx May 28, 2018! Congratulations to, Ysavelle Andrade, Kathryn Buffa, Logan Diggs, Jakob Encinia, Trae Trevino, Ada Martinez, and Lauren Reese!
On Saturday, March 3rd, our Colorguard went to compete at Jourdanton High School. They made Sinton history as the first colorguard group at Sinton to receive 1st place in their divistion. Way to go team!! Colorguard Members: Veronica Lopez (Colorguard Director), Diana Candelaria (Captain), Makenzie Mata, Kiely Gomez, Heather Cardenas, Chelsea Morelos, Calvin Vasquez, Samaira Camacho, Mario Aguirre, Heaven Cotton, Hailey Jenson, Jasmine Canisales, and Samantha Tovar. Helpers Include: Cristeen Garcia (Manager), Simon Garcia, Jaime Rosales, Victor Vera, Stephanie Morales, Andy Mata and Marlisa Mungia.

The Sinton Lady Pirate powerlifters competed at the Region 5, Division 2 Powerlifting Championships held on Saturday, March 3rd in Carrizo Springs. All three regional qualifiers either tied or set personal bests on their squat, bench, deadlift, and totals. Yagaira Martinez finished 4th in the 114 pound weight class with a personal best total of 675 pounds, including personal bests on squat (280), bench (120), and deadlift (275). Yagaira also hit the total necessary to qualify for the Class 4A Girls State Meet!!! Yagaira is only the 2nd Sinton Lady Pirate lifter in school history to qualify for state and the first since Vanessa Banta in 2016. The Class 4A Girls State Powerlifting Meet will be held on Saturday, March 17th in Waco. Sarah O'Canas finished 9th in the 97 pound weight class and tied her personal best on squat at 150 pounds, set a personal best on bench press at 75 pounds, and tied her personal best deadlift of 175 pounds for a personal best total of 400 pounds. Alexandra Crayton finished 8th in the 198 pound weight class with a personal best total of 755 pounds. Alexandra also set personal bests in all three lifts: 300 on squat, 155 on bench, 300 on deadlift.

On Saturday, March 17th, Yagaira Martinez competed at the THSWPA Class 4A State Powerlifting Meet at the Extraco Events Center in Waco. Yagaira finished 8th in the 114 pound weight class, which ties the best finish in school history by a Sinton Lady Pirate powerlifter. Yagaira tied her personal best squat at 280 pounds. Yagiara also set personal bests on bench press at 130 pounds, deadlift at 290 pounds, and total at 700 pounds. Thank you very much for your support throughout the course of this season!

Congratulations District Champions! William Petrus-2nd place medalist. Marcos Moreno-4th place medalist. Brendon Vogt 5th place medalist.
Sinton High School won first place in the 2017-2018 Coastal Bend Heroes Challenge Blood Drive for 4AAAA schools in the Coastal Bend. The award was presented Wednesday, May 16 at the Coastal Bend Blood Center Awards Luncheon in Corpus Christi. The Sinton Pirate blood drives generated 522 units. Pictured receiving the award are Meelena Fletcher, Greta Kieschnick,who are the new SHS Blood Drive Ambassadors for 2018-10, Tracy Tannehill, Janu Patel, SHS Blood Drive Ambassadors for this year and Celeste Baggett Coastal Bend Blood Center Donor Recruiter/Public Relations. This school year there were 235 Blood Drives at 53 schools in the Coastal Bend. 10,961 units of blood were collected.
