The Mariana Trench is a trench located in the Pacific Ocean. It is the deepest part of the ocean known to man.

The Mariana Trench is deeper than Mt. Everest is high. It is about 36, 070 feet below sea level. The trench is roughly 180 million years old and it has some very strange inhabitants, such as a vampire squid or a snail fish.
