Welcome to the Pitt School of Education A GUIDE FOR NEWLY-ADMITTED STUDENTS

Congratulations again on your acceptance to the University of Pittsburgh School of Education! It is an exciting time in the School of Education with countless opportunities to excel among our nearly 60 programs, which make up the No. 27 graduate school of education, according to the U.S. News & World Report.

At this point, you should have received your official admissions letter electronically and in the mail (arriving any day now). We are excited to get started with you, and want to make sure you have all the necessary information to secure information for the upcoming term.

NEXT STEPS

Officially accept your offer of admissions HERE so we can continue on the enrollment journey.

Complete a FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA) and learn more about FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIP opportunities directly from the School of Education.

There is no special scholarship application required; your application will be reviewed automatically.

If you are completing a teaching certification in secondary or elementary education: Log into the TRANSCRIPT REVIEW TOOL to learn of any outstanding admission requirements and/or prerequisites.

If not, continue to the next step.

If applicable, register for required prerequisite course(s) at your local college or university and earn a C or better. Check with your graduate enrollment manager to confirm necessary courses.

Log in to your Student Center through MY PITT and enroll in classes.

Keep a look out for invitations to new student orientation and welcome events, and stay in touch with the School of Education through social media.
