School Improvement Plan version 2 (Second semester 2016-2017)

  • Special Education success/course completion is NOW a priority. Given the historical data that has been presented, our School Improvement Plan must be updated to address the graduation needs of our SWD population. 30%-4 year Cohort Graduation Rate. Too many students receiving Special Education Diplomas (6 for five consecutive years). NO SWD passing percentages in any of the State/Sub-Group Flag Count. NO SWD earning 3 Carnegie Units and scoring at a minimal level of Developing on EOC's.

Working as ONE! This is NOT a Special Education Teacher concern, this is an Elbert County Comprehensive High School concern. In an attempt to rectify we will participate in the following; Participating in professional learning on the Co-Teaching process (Sped Ed/Gen Ed Teams), Consideration of Master Scheduling changes, Consideration of Curriculum changes (Implementation of tech program), Implementation of pulse checks, through the use of departmentally built interim assessments, a focus on differentiation by content in grading practices. A detailed focus on more intensive department/team data discussion. An emphasis on vertical teaming/transition plans to address SWD's, and those students identified on 504/Check and Connect master lists.

Follow, Lead, or Get out of the Way! Now that we have secured access to our historical data through the CCRPI for the last three years, we know that these academic and behavior goals must take place in order for our students to find success.

1. An emphasis on academic development/rigor for specific "failing" populations; SWD/Minority. 2. An emphasis on Literacy Development across all content areas, specifically through vocabulary acquisition and writing. 3. Continued monitoring and reflection on our Freshman Academy concept. 4. As demonstrated through new course/assessment opportunity, a larger percentage of students meeting credentialing/certification expectation. 5. Support and empower educators to both modify and accommodate work to meet student measurable outcomes.

We are ECCHS, We are Blue Devil Strong, We will Finish The Drill.
