Frankenstein Theme people judge based on appearances

"I entered, but i had hardly placed my foot within the door before the children shrieked, and one of the woman fainted." 166

the children ran in terror because of the monsters appearance they assumed he would hurt him and because of the way he looked that he would hurt them. although he was just fascinated by them he had no intentions of hurting them.
for months victor Frankenstein was sick in bed due to being so afraid of his own creation of a monster. he left his monster when he needed him the most.

"Why did you form a monster so hideous that even you turned from me in disgust." 171

he was so afraid of his own creation that he ran in horror and was sick for months. his best friend Henry had to nurse him back to health. it took him until the spring time to recover.

"He dashed me to the ground and struck him violently with a stick" 169

they were so afraid of him once again it was because of his appearance. the man beat him with a stick until he got up and ran off the woman just stood in horror.

But when the man drew near saw me draw near he aimed a gun which he carried at my body and fired."170

the man had assumed that the monster would kill his daughter even though the monster helped her the father judged because of the monster's appearance.

"let me go, he cries,"monster! you ugly wretch! you wish to eat me and tear me to pieces. you are an ogre!"

William thought that the monster was there to kill him but he only wanted to use him for help. but because William was a child he was afraid and thought that he would kill him.
