The Patch

My artwork looks like a couple of pumpkins in a pumpkin patch. The title of my project is "The Patch". My artwork shows value, emphasis, and unity. It is made up of a variation of light and dark colors, which shows value. It focuses on one main point, the colorful pumpkin in the middle, and that shows emphasis. It shows unity because everything in the artwork works together well. I used oil pastel to make my project. I used a pencil to do the outline, then went over it with black, white, and different shades of grey. I used strokes and tried to make my art as realistic as possible. My artwork was inspired by a picture of a pumpkin patch that i found on the internet. My project focuses on the social issue that it only focuses on the orange and yellow pumpkin in the middle. People pay no attention to the two dark pumpkins on the sides because they are not colorful. In my project, I tried to show awareness. I want to make people feel something when they look at my art. This project didn't help me reach my goal because it is only a small project. While creating my art, I learned that you have to use a lot of detail. My project didn't turn out the way i thought it would. I thought it would end up looking childish and messy but it didn't turn out as bad as i thought. This piece will make me more aware that I need to make my work more detailed.
