Lord of the Flies WILLIAM Golding

In the midst of a war, a group of British schoolboys' plane crashes, the boys are stranded on an inhabited island alone. With no adults around they must govern themselves. When a boy named Ralph becomes "cheif" the jealousy of another boy ends with disastrous results. According to the American Library Association, Lord of the Flies is most often banned because of its violence and inappropriate language. It is the eighth-most frequently banned and challenged book in the nation.
