Creative Clubs at CMIPCS

Creative Minds International Public Charter School is pleased to offer an array of Creative Clubs for our students in Pre-School through 4th Grade. These enrichment opportunities are designed to complement our academic program, providing opportunities for students to explore new activities and develop their talents and interests.

Clubs begin the week of September 11th and end the week of December 15th

Attached, you will find the club schedule and descriptions of clubs offered this semester. To sign up for clubs, please visit WWW.CMI.MYBIGCOMMERCE.COM. Club sign-ups will be available from September 4th (Labor Day) at 9 A.M.. Signups will be available on a first come, first served basis until a club is full.

In order to reserve a place in a creative club, you will need to make full payment through MyBigCommerce’s payment portal.

  • Please take note of our refund policy in case you have to withdraw registration from a club: If written notice of cancellation is submitted before September 22, 2017, a 50% refund will be granted. After September 22, 2017, there will be no refunds granted.

Monday Clubs

  • PS-KG Tippi Jam Tippi Jam is a high-energy dance class designed to keep boys and girls engaged in continual motion while they learn the basic elements of dance, including positions and terminology. Tippi Jam will end in a recital for parents and the Aftercare community! (TippieToesDance) $255/$125
  • 1st-2nd Art Club Students will have the opportunity to explore many mediums of artistic production. Students will experiment with mediums such as paint, pastels, and pencil. Students will learn about the creative process and elements of design while having the opportunity to express themselves. (Lauren Leister) $255/$125
  • 1st-2nd Spanish Club Students will learn Spanish through fun games, songs and activities. Your creative minds will be challenged to speak and listen to Spanish in a playful and engaging environment complete with guitar and dance! (Christian Roman) $255/$125
  • 3rd-4th Art Club Students will have the opportunity to explore many mediums of artistic production. Students will experiment with mediums such as paint, pastels, and pencil.   • 3rd-4th Drama Club From storytelling to set design, students in Drama Club will be exposed to a variety of drama and theatrical elements that foster their imagination.   • PS-KG Spanish Club Students will learn Spanish through fun games, songs and activities. Your creative minds will be challenged to speak and listen to Spanish in a playful and engaging environment complete with guitar and dance! (Christian Roman) $255/$125
  • 1st-2nd Mandarin Club Students will be traveling to China (in their creative minds!) to learn Mandarin afterschool through fun games, songs and activities. Classmates will be challenged to speak and listen to Mandarin while developing an understanding and greater appreciation for Chinese culture. (Yilan Li) $255/$125
  • 3rd-4th AIMBA Basketball Club *Please note that this club meets two days per week*: Tuesday and Friday. AIMBA is an innovative after school enrichment program that incorporates athletics and academics using basketball and skills development training. AIMBA uses a wide variety of activities that focus on the development of physical, social and intellectual skills. (AIMBA) $275/$145
  • 3rd-4th Capoeira Club Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art performed to music that provides physical fitness for children and adults. It is a no to mid-contact martial art that helps children with gross motor planning and gross motor skills. The Club will also provides a multi-sensory experience with exposure to Capoeira music, instruments and Portuguese. (Antonio Raimundo dos Santos) $255/$125

Wednesday Clubs

  • PS-KG Art Club Students will have the opportunity to explore many mediums of artistic production. Students will experiment with mediums such as paint, pastels, and pencil.   • PK(4) STEAM Club Steam Club will highlight science, technology, engineering, art, and math in different creative and fun activities. Students will engage in Project based learning to stimulate their current and future curiosities in STEAM. (Lindsay Elcano) $255/$125
  • 1st-2nd Around the World in Dance! Students will be participating in a rotating medley of dance styles throughout the semester spending two weeks on each dancing style. Throughout this club, students will gain an appreciation for the history of dance in multiple cultures across the globe and have a new ability to bust out international dance moves!   • 1st-2nd Capoeira Club Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art performed to music that provides physical fitness for children and adults. Thursday Clubs

  • PS-KG Yoga Club Classes will be a mixture of learning yoga postures, yoga infused games, team building, and strength/balance routines. All children will be moving their bodies and de-stressing after a day of learning in school. Young Yogis will also engage in meditative and calming exercises including singing and breathing meditation when their bodies are tired from yoga practice. Lively and fun filled yoga awaits!   • 1st-2nd Soccer Club Students participating in soccer club will continue to develop their athletic abilities while learning and playing the most popular international sport! In addition to gaining an appreciation for the history of the game, enrolled students will scrimmage, engage in drills and gain lifelong fitness skills. (Phil Williams) $255/$125
  • 3rd-4th Coding/Computer Programming Club Students signing up for this class will be assessed by instructors on their first day and divided by ability level as they learn fundamentals or advanced coding and computer programming skills. The goal of the class is to mix play with programming. A typical class will begin with an introduction to programming by the class acting out stories that they will later program on the computer. Friday Clubs

  • PS-KG Environmental Stewardship Club This fun outdoor exploration class will connect students to our environment and teach them about the importance of caring for our planet! In this science based class, Students will engage in hands-on activities that encourage an understanding of our dynamic planet, conservation, and recycling through creative and experiential activities.   • 1st-2nd Spy Club In this hands-on program students will be challenged to think outside the box as they investigate symmetry in nature, decipher codes, make a periscope, conquer an obstacle course and solve mysteries! This program is perfect stimulation for the inquisitive student or future C.I.A. applicant! (PhotoMath) $255/$125
  • 3rd-4th Claymation Club Students will utilize technology, art, and imagination to write and direct their own stop-motion films. In addition to developing their artistic designing skills, they will be learning how to edit their own movies, and what it takes to create a riveting plot! (Toni Maniscalco) $255/$125
  • 3rd-4th AIMBA Basketball Reminder, if you have signed up to participate in Basketball on Tuesdays, the second half of this club takes place on Fridays.
