Winter Activities Plan to be safe.

Some people love to be outside in winter in maine.

Plenty of snow and fresh air!

Be aware of ice thickness for your activities.

Rule of thumb from North Dakota Game and Fish Dept.

Ice conditions can change quickly with rain, heavy snow, currents, and melting.

There's plenty to do outside in winter in Maine.

Beware of thin ice!

Don't let your winter activity end in tragedy.

Turn around, don't drown.

Be prepared for breakdowns and let people know where you are going and when you expect to return. Pack some emergency supplies.

Here's a message from the Maine Warden Service and Brookfield Renewable:

Dress warm and in layers, keep an eye on others for frostbite, and watch for changing weather conditions. Have fun and be safe.
Enjoy the Maine outdoors!

Plan to be safe!
