Students as Creators The power of the iPad Camera

Collages of Learning & Discovery

PicCollage App
Students went on a historical Massachusetts Scavenger Hunt at the Legoland field trip.

Your turn... using Pic Collage, go on a Parts of Speech scavenger hunt!

Find and snap pictures of the following: a noun, a verb and an adjective. Label each picture, and add an overall title for the collage.

Challenge: Email it to yourself right from the app or save to camera roll and upload to your Google Drive.

Let's add some animated videos to the collage!

Tellagami App
How Ecosystems Change

Your turn... make a talking avatar!

Choose Tellagami or Chatterpix Kids. In 30 seconds or less, create an avatar that shares something that s/he has learned in your math curriculum . Make sure you save to the camera roll of the iPad!

Challenge: Make more than one Tellagami and/or Chatterpix Kids avatar.

Snap 2 - 3 photos using the Camera app. The photos should demonstrate the avatar's math learning. (Manipulatives will be provided.)

Put it altogether in a Media Collage!

Using the PicPlayPost app, insert your photos and the talking avatar(s). First, choose an appropriate sized frame. Add photos and then your talking avatar video(s).

Video Challenges: Can you get your video(s) to play for the full length? Can you crop your video(s) if necessary? Can you sequence your videos?

Bigger challenge: Can you export to the Camera Roll and then save to your Google Drive (via Drive app)?
