Students at the Intermediate school elected whether or not to participate in the Virtual Art Show this year. Each student was encouraged to choose which of their projects they wanted to display, and asked to submit a photo of their project. It could be their folder they created to hold all of their art work this year, a project they did on a Fun Friday event, or one of the main projects for the curriculum.
3rd Grade Projects
Clay Fish
Students worked with clay to create fish from two pinch pots. They scored, slipped, and moved the pieces together before the fish were fired and then glazed.
Foreground, Middleground, Background Landscapes
Students learned about the foreground, middleground, and background of an image. They chose one object to repeat in each section in order to show the size difference based on distance, then added others things to complete the picture.
Identity Grids
For this project students expressed they were through a grid of images that represented them. They selected and drew the images to display their personalities and interests.
Wayne Thiebaud Inspired 3D Desserts
The artist Wayne Thiebaud was studied for this project and students created desserts inspired by his work making sure that it was 3D as the artist did it.
