Conditioning Program
- Try to walk as many rounds as possible this summer
- Need to have an 18 hole stamina to play varsity
- Try to sign up for APC
- Also work on stretching daily so that you improve flexibility
- Approach golf like any other sport…BE AN ATHLETE.
This Summer
- Get out to chip and putt 3-5 times per week (minimum)
- Play the ball “down” every time you are out
- Count EVERY stroke…EVERY time (including penalty strokes)
- Track fairways hit, number of putts, and greens in regulation
- This will help you determine what to work on when you have time to practice during the summer
- Putt every day. You will notice a major improvement in your game if gain confidence in your putting.

Qualification
There will be several factors used in determining who will make the team rather than just a two day qualifying round. Depending on the numbers of girls who try out for the team, we may have to make cuts this year. Here are some of the criteria involved in deciding who makes the squad, and which team they will play on…
- Scores in the qualification rounds
- Scores used in summer tournaments
- Participation in summer tournaments
- Participation in summer golf camps
- Skills analysis on driving range, putting green, and on course
- Potential, work ethic, attitude
Given that we only have 2 practices before our first tournament, I cannot stress enough the importance of summer play. Our program has become extremely competitive, and you need to take advantage of every opportunity to improve on your own during the season.
Seniors will only be able to try to qualify for varsity. If a Senior is not in the top 5-6 players, efforts will be made throughout the season to get them into a match. Seniors will be guaranteed to play in the Zionsville Invitational and Senior Night match only. All other opportunities will be based on fair competition with the underclassmen. In the event of a tie, deference will be given to the underclassmen to allow them to gain experience. Ultimately, I reserve the right to make any cuts. It will be based on many evaluating factors, some of which are listed above. I will be sending out more details regarding Qualifications later in the summer.

Team Uniform
We once again will be ordering apparel from Nike. Varsity will have 3 shirts, 2 skorts, and a pullover. Rain / cold weather gear may be ordered as well. JV will have 2 shirts and a skort. ATHLETES WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HALF OF THE COST OF THE APPAREL!! The school will pay for the other half.
Participation Fee
- Once again there will be a $200 participation fee that must be paid to the Athletic Department before you can participate in the qualifiers
