The Year That Was/Will Be

The Year That Was/Will Be

There were definitely things that I'm happy to be leaving in 2016. Yet there's still so many good things that have happened. In 2016 I realized a lot of things; spiritually, physically, mentally, and I know I still will be in 2017.

I became more connected with my loved ones. I met my best friend. But I've also lost friends. I was confused on who I wanted to surround myself with, and who my true friends are.

I hope this new year I will be successful with school, friends, sports, and a lot more things. I want to be active and find out who I am.

An Ode to Brothers

An Ode To Brothers

Two older brothers teaming up on me. I'll scream, I'll fight back, I'll tell on you, I'll cry.

You just graduated high school. Both of you in college now, the other soon to be moving. Don't leave yet. I'm not ready.

You scream, you fight, you never tell on me, you never cry.

Don't leave me behind in this confusing, hurt home. Stay. I want you to push my buttons, I want you to poke the bear. I'm not ready for you to grow up without me.

Rude Awakenings

Rude Awakenings

I deal with this a lot. It's something I never really got. I am excited, happy, but moments later I am told otherwise. It can be this way, or I can have all this emotion build up inside of me, waiting to actually happen, but I am disappointed with a change of heart. I deal with this a lot.

Why can't I know it just won't happen, right when it starts. Disappointment floods me, but I can't show them that. I'm strong. It just won't happen.

It's not a big deal, though. I can live without it. It's just a want. Don't be a crybaby. It's not a big deal.

Letter To A Voter

Letter To A Voter

Dear Voter,

Tomorrow is when America expires. Whichever candidate wins, our president will be a clown. One crook, and one racist. I believe someone can talk some sense into this man if he is elected, but who can do the same to the woman who just wants power? She only stayed with her cheating husband for his ranking.

I'm worried for the future of our nation, for the world we are affecting. It bothers me how the media only shows bad things about this man and everything good that this woman does. I wish people would understand that, yes, I'm a kid, but I do have a point. I do have an opinion.

Scream

Scream

As I take in this beauty around me, I hear the few other people nearby talk about the scenery. I am overwhelmed by clear water, seeing the fish swim around. The large hills in the distance, the perfect, orange sunset. Everything building up inside me, begging to escape. I take in a deep breath, and let it all out with a scream.

Fall

Fall

Listen to the sounds of fall

Leaves falling from the trees so tall

All the colors in the background

No more green to be found

This beauty must be seen by all

8

Fall 2

Fall 2

The crunch of the leaves

Almost as silent as the breeze

No more buzzing from bees

Oh how fall pleases me

9

Winter

Winter

Sparkling snow

Boots make a crunch

Ready for hot soup with lunch

10

Spring

Spring

Goodbye winter

So long snow

It's time to watch the flowers grow
