Love

Morrie says, " love each other or perish...its so true... without love, we are birds with broken wings...(Albom91)

This quote proves what Morrie thinks about love. Morrie thinks that if you have never loved anyone then your not human he thinks that everyone has loved someone. Morrie talks about how you should love yourself and how you should love others. He talks about how important love is in our lives and how love goes on after we die.

Family

Morrie states, '' There is no foundation, no secure ground, upon which people may stand today if it isn't the family. It's become quite clear to me as I've been sick. If you don't have the support and love and caring and concern that you get from a family, you don't have much love at all...it's not the same as having someone whim you know has an eye on you, is watching you the whole time..."(Albom 91).

In this quote Morrie shows us in this quote that family will always be there for you and that they will never leave your side. When you need them the most they will always be there. He states that when your at your worse your family will there for you and will help you through anything that comes your way. Through his struggles Morrie see's the importance of his family and how much they mean to him because when he was at his worse they were there for them.

Forgiveness

Morrie says, " forgive yourself before you die. Then forgive others...there is no point in keeping vengeance or stubbornness...these things i so regret in my life. Pride. Vanity (Albom 165).

This quote proves that Morrie believes that if you don't forgive someone you could regret it in the future. Morrie states that keeping vengeance and stubbornness won't get you far in life and you will regret it. Morrie says that you will wish that you forgave them in the past because know you feel bad about it because that person is gone and you will never see them again.

Marriage

Morrie says, " there are a few rules I know to be true about love and marriage: if you don't respect the other person, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. if you don't know how to compromise, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. If you can't talk openly about what goes on you don't have a common set of values in life, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. Your values must be the alike...and the biggest one of those values... Your belief in the importance of your marriage... marriage is a very important thing to do, and your're missing a lot if you don't try it (Albom 149).

This quote proves the meaning of marriage and what Morrie believes is a good in marriage. Morrie shows what is true about love and marriage. Morrie states that in a marriage if your not respectful, if you don't compromise, if you can't talk openly, if your values aren't alike then you're going to have lots of trouble in your marriage. Morrie says that the most important of your marriage is the belief in marriage. He also states that marriage is very important and if you don't try you are missing a lot. Morrie shows us the importance of marriage and what is right and wrong about marriage. He shows us how we should treat each other and how to respect each other.
