The Ascension of StudioBox 'Improv-ing' Florida Southern one show at a time.

StudioBox has been a staple of Florida Southern for a few years now. Ever since their first show on Friday, Jan. 16th 2015, StudioBox has been like a tiger out of its cage: unstoppable.

From Humble Beginnings to FSC Fame

Ask anyone on Florida Southern's campus and they will tell you about the many laughs they have shared at the different studio box shows. Studio box has become integral to the Florida Southern Experience, and the numbers show that.

According to the Center for Student Involvement over 350 students swiped into the January Scholars Weekend show. Making it one of the most popular Scholars Weekend show.

Haines City High School Senior, Imelda Tice attended her first StudioBox show on Scholar Weekend. Patiently waiting in line outside of the George Jenkins Field House for the start of the StudioBox show Tice had a small hesitation for the show to come.

"I don't know what to expect but I heard nothing but good things from my Host. I'm not a big fan of comedy but I hope it goes well." - Imelda Tice
StudioBox started out with one of their patented skits. Where they take suggestions from the audience and act out scenes no matter how potentially embarrassing.
Guests in attendance were able to experience an impromptu push up contest between two of the boxers.

With the conclusion of the StudioBox show the Scholars Weekend festivities were over and the scholars started filing out in order to get some rest for the next day. Although one scholar in particular was interested in sharing her thoughts about the StudioBox set.

"I enjoyed myself. They got a bit too vulgar for me at times but it was still a highly enjoyable experience." - Imelda Tice

StudioBox is an FSC staple that isn't expected to disappear anytime soon. It's successful and people love them. Even the former members of StudioBox have gone on to do some amazing things after there time in the comedy troupe. By, the reaction of the crowd at the scholars weekend show FSC might have a few new boxers next year.
