Rich Clarkson was born on August 11th, in 1932. He was a photographer based in Denver, Colorado he has a long history of covering american sports. Here are some Examples of his work :

For Richard photography started as a hobby that grew into a passion. And when he finished high school he decided to take journalism at the university of Kansas.

Early Career: After graduation, Rich clarkson served as a information officer in the air force for a couple of years. After those years passed he then became the director of photography at the topeka journal for twenty-one years. He was also a contract photographer for Sports Illustrated covering regional as well as national games.

Late Career: He then became a contributor to numerous publications on photojournalism and sports he also co-wrote six books. He later founded Clarkson Creative his company which produced twenty-three hardcover books ranging in subject. He also was a principal designer and curator for NCAA hall of champions, a 12,000 square foot museum of college sports memorabilia and pictures in NCAA headquarters building that was formerly in suburban Kansas city.

He is mainly Famous for his Front Page Sports illustrated covers. Across his career he received many awards such as, He was named as one of the 50 most influential individuals in American photography by American photo magazines. He was also Selected for inclusion in the Kansas sports hall of fame. He is a recipient of the William Allen white medal by his alma mater, University of Kansas. He is a recipient of an Honary master of science degree in photography. In 2011 he was given the Lucie award honoree in achievement in sports. In 2015 he was an Inductee into the Denver press club hall of fame.

My opinion: I personally believe Rich Clarkson was an innovative photographer who made an impact on the world of sports photography for the better and truly changed the game.
