Mapp V. Ohio 1961

Issue: Dollree Mapp denied police entrance to her home but they entered anyway without producing a warrent and found evidence of recent crime. Can Mapp be convicted of the crime with evidence gathered without a warrent?

What the court said/did: The Supreme Court of Ohio upheld Mapp's conviction saying the gathering of the evidence did not violate the 4th amendment as it was gathered peacefully (from a trunk) rather than violently (from Mapp herself).
