Children’s Program Director

Full Time – Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale County. $59,862 - $81,848 Salary/year

The Children’s Program Director is responsible for assuring all Head Start, Early Head Start, Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Women Infant and Children (WIC), and other applicable birth to age five program mandates and standards for excellence are met on a daily basis. This position is responsible for the overall structure, systems and procedures to facilitate program excellence in addition to operating responsibility for fiscal, legal and programmatic aspects of the program in conjunction with Agency management.

Success measures include strong strategic planning, open communication, proactive problem solving, staff development, and relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders. Data-driven decision making to inform program development and continuous quality improvement aligning with the Agency’s commitment to equity and becoming a Trauma Informed Agency.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably Master’s degree with a minimum of eight years of experience in Early Childhood, Child Development, Public Administration, or Non-profit Management or a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple roles and projects while exhibiting independent judgement, flexibility and the ability to integrate information from multiple sources.

Early Head Start Manager

Full Time - Jackson and Hillsdale County $49,483 - $65,332 Salary/year

To coordinate and direct an interdisciplinary, multi-county team providing Early Head Start services. Responsible for hiring, orienting, and providing administrative supervision to all EHS staff. Provide Individual and/or group reflective supervision to staff. Work with other children’s program and agency managers to ensure effective services and transition of children from Early Head Start into Head Start. Responsible for recruitment of Early Head Start enrollees within the community through attendance and promotion at various community meetings. Responsible for implementation of Federal regulations for Early Head Start.

Master’s Degree in social work and three years progressive work experience including program management, supervision of staff, families in welfare services and court proceedings. Requires a variety of office work, attending community meetings, conflict resolution, and interacting with families.

Education Manager

Full Time – Jackson and Hillsdale County $49,483 - $65,332 Salary/year

Responsible for education in the Head Start, Great Start School Readiness Program and Disability services in Jackson and Hillsdale. Responsible for curriculum development and implementation as well as tracking educational outcomes for all preschool children. Develop professional development for educating staff according to best practice, Head Start program performance standards as well as additional federal, state and local regulations. Manage staff and all other related program activities while ensuring that all program standards and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) licensing standards are in compliance. Data-driven decision making to inform program development and continuous quality improvement aligning with the Agency’s commitment to equity and becoming a Trauma Informed Agency.

Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, Master’s Degree preferred. Five (5) years progressive work experience in related field including program management and Early Childhood Education; or any equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Work cooperatively with other community organizations and community schools to better integrate CAA services with other outside agencies to benefit our families. Represent the Agency as necessary in meetings or to community organizations wishing to know more about our programs. Oversee the integration of education and ensuring all performance standards are met.

Tri-County Program Manager - Community Services

Full Time – Jackson. $49,483 - $65,332 Salary/year

Oversight of Community Service Programs in Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties, including services for the homeless and utility assistance. Tasks to include the oversight and management of tri-county programs including staff management, report submission and completion of grant applications in cooperation with the Director of Development and Communications.

Essential Qualifications: Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Public Administration, or Business Administration. Training: Grant writing experience preferred. Database training as may be necessary. Certification/Licenses: Valid Michigan driver’s license. Work Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in a nonprofit program with related administrative and supervisory experience required.

Housing Specialist

Full Time - Lenawee County $14.76 - $20.29 Hourly

Work with people of all economic levels; determine eligibility for MSHDA and other related programs. Make referrals to other outside human service agencies. Responsible for recruitment and maintenance of full enrollment for a variety of housing and self-sufficiency programs ensuring full compliance with State and Federal regulations and meeting program goals. This position will serve Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale counties.

Qualifications: Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field required. Training: Attend MSHDA, community development and other trainings as required. Certification: Must obtain necessary and relevant program certifications. One to two years’ experience in administration of housing programs and working with multi-problem families. Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for the position may be considered at the discretion of the CEO. Must possess reliable transportation. Must possess excellent written and oral skills. Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and database usage. Must be able to work with clients one on one. High level of mental concentration is required. Ability to establish a natural rapport and be sensitive to the needs of varying socio-economic groups is required. Ability to plan, develop and administer multiple programs and funding sources. Promote teamwork and participate as a team member with other agency staff and as part of interagency teams.

Will be required to pass a criminal background check after hiring offer and may be required to have a physical and TB test after hiring offer.

Full Time – Jackson County $13.43-$16.88 – w/Associates $12.20-$15.37 – w/CDA $11.11-$14.90

Assist the teacher in implementing a preschool classroom in compliance with Head Start, GSRP and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) licensing requirements, Agency Policies and Procedures with minimal direction from supervisor. Work closely with program staff and community partners to fulfill the objectives of the Program and Agency.

Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and or age appropriate CDA preferred. One (1) year experience working with children in a preschool classroom setting. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with people of all economic levels, cultures and capabilities in addition to the ability to mediate and diffuse difficult situations.

Teacher

Full Time - Hillsdale County (Camden) $16.23-$20.29 Hourly

Plan and implement a preschool classroom in compliance with Head Start, GSRP and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) licensing requirements, Agency Policies and Procedures with minimal direct supervision. Work closely with program staff and community partners to fulfill the objectives of the Program and Agency. Direct classroom staff and facilitate daily classroom activities.

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or valid Michigan teaching certificate; age appropriate CDA credential, ZA or ZS endorsement. Two (2) years’ experience working with children in a preschool classroom setting. Knowledge of community resources, organizational and time management skills; ability to work cooperatively in a team approach. Work as a team developing a lesson plan that individualizes for children while maintaining a balance of child-initiated and adult-initiated activities, understanding the lead teacher is responsible for accurate implementation.

Child Care Aide

Jackson County. $11.11 - $14.90 Hourly

Assist the Teacher and Teacher Assistant in the classroom to help provide and maintain an environment which fosters the children’s positive development and meets local, state and federal regulations.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Six (6) months experience working with preschool age children. Must have reliable transportation throughout the workday. Must be competent in reading, mathematical, verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to perform basic computer functions and have a willingness to develop more skills. Ability to work cooperatively in a team approach. Independent judgement to complete routine tasks. Establish and maintain positive relationships with people of all economic levels, cultures and capabilities. Ability to mediate and diffuse difficult situations.

Ability to go into classrooms and home situations and operate in a non-handicap accessible environment in all types of weather.
