What's a serviced apartment when it's at home?

Truly a 'home from home' experience, serviced apartments provide more space for guests, with living rooms, fully-equipped kitchens and often 2 or more bedrooms. For families, if you have young children, you don’t have to turn all the lights out/off or the TV down/off when they go to bed (no more cramming into a hotel room).

Serviced apartments are ideal for families who need to stay somewhere for a few weeks – perhaps you're in-between homes or having work done at home, or are relocating to a new city. There’s also a lot more space to put toys, cots and books away (not that they ever stay away for long!)

For colleagues sharing, the company benefits because subsistence allowance payments can be much lower. Instead of paying 3 people £25 per day, the total food bill if they cook and eat at home could easily be under £25 in total.

The overall accommodation cost is also much cheaper. Sharing one of our 2 bedroom apartments in Derby for as little as £150 per night gives everyone their own spacious bedroom and bathroom, free parking, free Wifi and weekly housekeeping on the edge of Derby city centre.

You'll feel like it's yours

Serviced apartments are perfect bases for individual corporate guests too. In Derby, we have guests staying Monday-Thursday each week because they work at Rolls Royce/Toyota/Bombardier, etc but live elsewhere in the UK, we have many regulars who bring their own food, have gym memberships here, have colleagues round for dinner, but still have the flexibility that a hotel guest would to go out for dinner occasionally. All our apartments in Derby and Nottingham are handily placed for the city centre but have quick, easy access to major routes for the large businesses in the area.

I personally had relocation packages for a few companies. Early in my career I had to stay in hotels, but when I moved to Jersey I had my own apartment which meant I could cook what I wanted instead of having to eat the same 3 vegetarian meals in rotation for 3 months! And when I moved to Derby, Egg put me up at Birchover for 3 months. Also, you can have breakfast on your sofa in your pyjamas. Going Forward

There is a growing number of serviced apartment providers in the UK and so it is a trend we anticipate continuing…with more corporate guests choosing to stay in an apartment over a hotel

The same is true of leisure guests, where families or groups of friends also see the benefit of a serviced apartment and we definitely see that in Derby, in Nottingham and we anticipate it to definitely be true when we open Bridgford Hall in May.
