We are a happy, friendly 5 vet, 5 nurse small animal practice with animal welfare at the heart of everything we do. We love to learn and progress together and hold regular meetings to talk about how things are going and how we can improve on what we do.
We have a varied and interesting case load and have two certificate holders as well as an acupuncturist and we work very closely with several of our local animal charities. We are approachable and mistakes are learnt from and used as an aid to improve our protocols and knowledge - no one is made to feel stupid and personal progression is encouraged.
We have a dedicated nurse consulting room where nurses can consult and carry out various procedures such as laser. Our Team is dedicated and caring, they are compassionate and fun to work with, and they are amazing at what they do.
The Team and Culture
Our Team is amazing! Friendly, compassionate, caring, dedicated, proactive, fun to work with, supportive, nurturing. We have a no blame culture and learn together from any mistakes made - after all, we are all only human!
We often joke that the Team at the surgery is our second family!
A Day In The Life
No two days are the same! Whether you are working in theatre assisting the vets, or consulting, or nursing in patients, the days go quickly and are filled with interesting cases and interesting characters.
This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday with one in four Saturday mornings and absolutely no on call!
Our ideal candidate will be passionate about the profession, have good team work skills and be proactive, caring and compassionate. A good sense of humour and great communication skills are desirable.
Make this your 'Day In The Life'
We have recently had a refurbishment to add another consulting room and separate waiting area which we hope to use for cat-only and rabbit-only clinics once the Covid restrictions have lifted.
Our Clinical Director is also hoping to hold Oldie clinics here, where she offers a multi-modal approach to conditions like osteoarthritis using acupuncture, laser and physiotherapy, assisted by the Nursing Team.
The Local Area
Beautiful local parks such as Bushy Park and Richmond Park, historical landmarks such as Hampton Court Palace and Strawberry Hill House, the musical history and roots of Eel Pie Island, where many well known bands such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones started off, and fabulous horticulture at Kew Gardens, which are all just a stone's throw away.
A short train ride will get you into central London with all the theatres and site seeing it has to offer (when Covid restrictions allow!).
There is a real community spirit still to be found in Twickenham and there are plenty of things to do in and around the town.
