I am SO glad testing is over, aren't you? I think April is probably the roughest month on us as educators. It is so brain-draining, exhausting, mentally challenging, and all-around tough time...BUT...we did it, and came out on top! I am excited to see May, it's just around the corner, which means we are SO close to Summer Break!
A couple of thoughts come to mind about this time of year. We often see our students start to get antsy, act-up, and tend to make us a little crazy around this time of year. This is the best time of the year to try something new and different! If you have or are thinking about Project Based Learning, now would be a good time to dip your toes in the baby pool and see what happens with your students! If you have or are thinking about trying something new with technology like Virtual Field Trips or SeeSaw blogging, now is the time to try it out!
This time of year is also when we start to think about what we want to do differently for next year. Some of you are already starting to plan for what you want to teach next year (Go you!) and some are just trying to survive (You are doing a great job, by the way!) and that's okay too! I know some teachers are wanting to revamp their planning for next year and NOW is the time to start brainstorming ideas for how you want to do that!
If you have been thinking about one or all of the things I mentioned above or something I didn't mention, this is my place to say, I am here in this building until June 1st and I WANT to help you with anything you are challenging yourself with! Please reach out if you want a thought partner for planning, if you are wanting to dive into something new and don't know where to start, or even just need someone to talk to as this time of year causes some anxiety and stress!
Below are resources, videos, and little tidbits of info to dive into if you want to improve your instructional practice!
Want more info on these resources? Want different resources? Email me and we will set up a time to chat about it!
See, I told you there would be humor!
