"Widely known as the premier JUCO job in the country, CSI comes with pressure to win. Athletic Director, Joel Bate immediately looked to hire who he considered 'the whole package'. Phay is a congenial family man off the court and a focused teacher of fundamentals on. He knows exactly what works for him. His talent level and game preparation are always second to none. In year one, Phay picked up 31 wins and a Conference Championship. Phay is a WINNER and considered one of college basketball’s best coaches at any level".
