REMINDERS

  • Have your participant bring a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack to camp. Full day participants should bring two snacks and a bag lunch with a drink to camp. Please do not bring snacks or lunches containing peanut products to any camps. Participants should be dressed for the weather and wear tennis shoes.
  • Camp T-shirt: One camp t-shirt is included for those who registered prior to the registration deadline. T-shirts will be available on-site the first day. Each participant gets one t-shirt for the summer.
  • Weather: Inclement weather conditions may result in program cancellation, delay, or an early ending. When you are unsure, please call our Weather/Information Line at 952-882-2688. We update this regularly to keep our participants informed about cancellations or changes due to weather. During any bad weather camp will move into the closest warming house structure. If the program will end early parents/guardians will be contacted directly. If your participant has permission to bike to and from program, you will be contacted to pick-up your participant if bad weather occurs.
  • Sunscreen Policy and Sunscreen Permission Form: Sunscreen is not provided by Savage Parks and Recreation. We ask that all participants bring their own sunscreen to programs each day labeled with their first and last name. Participants should arrive to programs with sunscreen already applied, especially in hard to reach areas such as the back. Staff will give a verbal reminder to participants’ mid-morning, after lunch, and mid-afternoon to reapply sunscreen. We encourage participants to wear hats to protect their heads. If your participant may need additional assistance reapplying sunscreen throughout the day, they must have a completed sunscreen permission slip in order for staff to be able to assist. Forms are attached to the original email or available on site.
