Carbohydrates are built of monosaccharides (simple sugars, like glucose and fructose)

Where can you find them?

Most carbs are found in foods like wheat bread, rye, cookies, and some soft drinks. Fructose is usually found in fruits. In the human body you can find them in the liver and muscles. In your muscles and liver they give you more energy when you need it.

What are they?

Carbs, or carbohydrates, are used to store energy, and they were discovered by Claude Bernard in 1856. They consist only of Carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen.
