Our People AJ Frigo

A swashbuckling theatre major, AJ joined the Office of Admissions and immediately tickled our funny bone with his quick-dry humor.

Little known fact. AJ is a sharp-shooter with a bow and arrow and has hunted Asian carp in the wilds of Eastern Illinois. Never heard of the sport? Watch this.

Most memorable trip?

I typically am pretty aware of my surroundings. However, during a musical my senior year in college, I did fall off stage into the orchestra pit. I was supposed to die in the scene, so it worked out.

If you won a $1Million?

I have no idea. I can't even fathom having that much money. Probably buy a suit of armor for starters.

Guilty pleasure?

Cheese. I love cheese.

Do you have a hidden talent?

Probably straight-faced contests. I've only ever lost one time. It was to a Turkish foreign exchange student that didn't speak English. We stared at each other for 16 minutes straight. I cracked. I've only gotten better since though, promise.

Last book you read?

The last book I fully read cover to cover was probably "Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers". 6th grade was a great year.

Favorite movie?

Very tough question. Part of me wants to say Shrek because I know every word to that movie. But, If there's one specific movie I always come back to it's probably The Imitation Game. Benedict Cumberbatch is amazing in that movie.

Favorite sport?

It's probably a tie between wrestling and rugby.

Best part of being on the Admissions team?

Being able to sit down and talk with students about their accomplishments is awesome. I have met some amazing teenagers throughout my time working here.
