Washington County Regional Park Expansion Hurricane, Utah

Extension translates science into formats that people use to improve their lives and livelihoods.

An electrical fire started on January 9, 2014. The old USU Extension building was located at 44 N 100 E. The building was formerly the Washington County Justice Court, prior to that it was a mortuary.

The electrical fire took the Saint George Fire Dept. 3 hours to put out.

The building was demolished in 2014 and Washington County is using the insurance funds towards the Regional Park expansion.

Finally got the office skylight I always wanted.

The building consists of 5,956 square feet of office area, and 22,165 square feet of exhibit hall and associated areas.

Once complete, the office portion of the building will be occupied by USU Extension. The Exhibit Hall space will be a great community area where many activities will take place, including formal and recreational events. The air conditioned Exhibit Hall will especially be utilized each year during the Washington County Fair providing additional bathrooms and relief from the sun.

New building will be located northEast of the parking lot and existing Exhibitor building.

The projected completion date of the new Regional Park building is August 4, 2017.
