ADVENT 2019
A New Hope - The Birth of Jesus
The opening two chapters of Luke's Gospel take us on a journey of hope and fulfillment, prophecy and justice, doubt and belief. There are four characters who have a particularly powerful encounter with God: Zechariah is a priest who doubts God’s miracle and learns to believe. Mary is a teenage girl whose trusting heart accepts God's miraculous call. The lowly shepherds are the first to hear heavenly proclamations of Jesus’ birth. Simeon is an old man who longs to see the Messiah before he dies. He holds the baby Jesus and says:
“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” (Luke 2:29-32)
Join us as we read the story of Christ’s birth, the lives that were changed, and see how Jesus brings hope to our world!

The Virgin Mary
Luke 1:26-56
“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1). Worship is not only expressed through song. It is rather a posture before God that affects every area of life. It is also something we can grow in. Here’s Paul Tripp again “Sanctification is really about the grace of God doing for us what we can’t do for ourselves: recapture our awe for God and God alone. Spiritual growth is about recapturing your awe. The more that the awe of God rules the motivation systems of your heart, the more your will love his kingdom and find pleasure in his work and satisfaction in doing his will”
