"Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day." - Henri J.M. Nouwen

GJHS Student Stories

Students in Coach Edmondson's STEM class created egg drop contraptions in an effort to protect a raw egg from breaking as it dropped. While enjoying the process of scientific design and implementation, students discovered the difference between kinetic and potential energy.
Our GJHS volleyball team competed in a tournament last Saturday in Russellville making it to the Gold Bracket level, beating much larger schools, and finishing runner up to a tough Conway team in the third set. We are so proud of our student athletes who represent us so well as they travel!
Students in Mrs. Spinks' Survey of Agricultural classes were demonstrating their understanding of the beliefs and values of the FFA organization using a little healthy competition and Quizlet Live!

Staff Spotlight

Our CTE teachers Mrs. Walls, Mrs. Rowlett, and Mrs. Nacke shared with the community about our FBLA organization, ServSafe training, and Office certifications. Last year we certified 206 students in Word, 138 students in Excel, 161 students in PowerPoint, 5 students in Access, 34 students in Word Expert, 7 students in Excel Expert, and 4 students achieved Microsoft Master Certification. GJHS earned the number ONE spot in the state having more than TWICE as many certifications as the second place school.
GJHS is so thankful to have School Resource Officer Tim Woody on campus patrolling our halls and cafeteria and working with campus staff to keep our students safe every day!
