Fall Season Pep-Assembly

This was a great ending to our Fall 2019 Spirit Week!

Fall 2019 Spirit Week

This was another amazing week at Baker Middle School. The staff and students celebrated their school pride and the end of our fall sports season. During the week, each grade level and the staff competed for points participating in a variety of activities to fundraise, and spread awareness about breast cancer in our community. It was great to see our Baker Family compete for a good cause. It was a close battle throughout the week but the staff came out victorious with the most points winning Spirit Week!

Spirit Week Final Results

  • 1st Place Staff
  • 2nd Place 8th Grade
  • 3rd Place Tie between the 6th and 7th Grade

Are You ALL IN?

The Baker Middle School ALL IN Program started 2 years ago by Mrs. Laura Kemp and Mrs. Lindsey Becker. They saw an opportunity to recognize and provide positive reinforcement to the students who have all of their assignments turned in by their assigned deadline. Mrs. Kemp and Mrs. Becker brought in enrichment, STEM, and Maker Space activities for these students and worked closely with the students who need additional assistance to complete their assignments.

Last year the ALL IN program expanded to include more teachers and this year it has grown to include Science, Math, Language Arts, English Language Development, Social Studies, & Theater Arts. We have seen an increase in the student commitments to being ALL IN with their assignments. We are happy to support the Red Pillar by connecting with students and reinforcing the traits that led students to be ALL IN with their work: Perseverance, Positive Attitude, Growth Mindset, and Effort.

Baker vs Larson Football Game at AHS

Reminder: Football Pizza Party on Monday, November 4th

Spirit week ended with our annual Baker vs. Larson football game at Athens. The Bobcats came out victorious winning the game 18 to 14 after a tough battle against the inclement weather and the Larson high powered offense. It was an exciting game that went down to the wire. We appreciate all of our Baker Family members who weathered the storm and came out to cheer on the Bobcats!

Baker vs Larson Girls Basketball Game

The 7th and 8th grade teams went on the road to play Larson in their final game of the season. The 7th grade team batted their way through a tight match up, winning the game 24 to 20. It came down to the wire and had everyone on the edge of their seat. The 8th grade team left it all out on the floor but came up short. Despite the loss, it was a great season and we are very proud of our Bobcats!

Green Team

This week our Green Team met to participate in a fall clean up! The students went outside during lunch to clean up the entrance areas. We are excited about our students desire to take action to improve our campus. Throughout the year the green team will participate in initiatives to reduce, reuse, and recycle items. The green team will also look into initiatives that address energy use and environmental protection. Great job students! Thank you Baker counseling team for your support of this club!

Box Tops

It’s time to submit your boxtops! The program is moving to a scan your grocery receipt process, but we know you have some physical box tops still lying around! Please have your student turn them in to their 4th hour teacher by October 22nd to support the Baker PTO! Thank you!

The Bobshop

Hello and welcome to the Baker Bob Shop!! We really appreciate you signing up to volunteer. The shift runs every school day from 11:15am - 1:00pm. On these days we need one Shop Keeper, with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays. These are Candy Days and usually very busy, so we ask for two Shop Keepers.

Don't worry if you have not volunteered in the past. There are directions in the Bob Shop, and Jennifer Molotky is there most days as a noon aide. She is overseeing the Bob Shop this year and is happy to help anyone who needs it!

Please review the slots using the link below and sign up where you can. Be mindful to let everyone have a chance to take a spot so as to be fair. Again, we really appreciate your willingness to help out and have fun Shop Keepers!! Feel free to email or text me any questions.
